Mutualink Solution

Mutualink

Inter-Op Canada’s Mutualink Solution creates networks of interoperable communities that are, at an instant, capable of sharing voice, text, radio, data and telephone communications in a secure environment.

The combination of affordability and the elegant simplicity of our offering changes the way that communities across the country communicate.

At the heart of every community essential personnel from diverse organizations interact under a wide range of critical circumstances.  While conventional solutions to communication interoperability focus on first responders, Mutualink’s revolutionary approach enables all critical organizations within a community to participate in incidents as required.  Inter-Op Canada’s interoperable communities include:

  • All levels of municipal, regional, provincial and federal government
  • Police, Fire and EMS
  • Hospitals
  • Critical infrastructure such as utilities
  • Schools and universities
  • School buses and mass transit
  • Airports, ports and shipping
  • High value community assets

Controllable

Inter-Op Canada’s Mutualink Solution secure peer to peer Internet Protocol (IP) Network eliminates single points of failure and the need for a central “switch”. Incidents are created with the Mutualink Graphical User Interface (GUI) by electronically inviting participants.  Participants on the Emergency Preparedness Network have control over their radio and other communication resources, can accept or reject invitations and exit incidents at their discretion.

Interoperable communications are instantly established and may be instantly modified based on the need, stage and condition of incidents.  This level of control makes participants such as police services receptive to other entities being on the Network because all parties choose with whom, when and through which resources they communicate.

Intuitive

Within command and control, it is imperative that all participants are confident with the tools needed for establishing communications during an incident.  Furthermore, interoperable communication solutions need to recognize the varied technical sophistication of system users. A professional dispatcher has more familiarity with emergency communication equipment than does an attendant at a hospital emergency room, yet both may be invaluable incident participants.  Mutualink’s intuitive GUI turns any computer user into a trained Mutualink expert within minutes.

Affordable

Robust emergency communications exist when all critical organizations in a community are able to participate in incidents. However, until now community-wide participation was beyond the financial reach of most communities. Inter-Op Canada’s subscription-based service is the solution.  An extremely low cost approach will induce large numbers of diverse organizations to join interoperable communities making the Emergency Preparedness Network an indispensable tool in managing both routine and catastrophic incidents.
